DISM GUI is a free, graphical interface application that allows you to easily run Microsoft’s complex Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) command-line commands using simple click-and-run buttons.

By default, DISM is a command-line tool built into Windows that requires typing intricate strings into Command Prompt to repair the hidden system files (the component store) that keep your operating system stable. Programs like DISM-GUI or modern alternatives like DISM++ eliminate the need to memorize or type code. Core Repair Features inside a DISM GUI

Most DISM graphical tools organize the advanced command-line features into clearly labeled buttons:

Check Health (Quick Scan): Instantly queries the system to see if the operating system image has already been flagged as corrupted.

Scan Health (Deep Scan): Actively searches the entire Windows component store for hidden or unflagged errors. This process usually takes 10–15 minutes.

Repair / Restore Health: Downloads clean, uncorrupted system files directly from Microsoft’s servers via Windows Update to overwrite your broken files.

SFC Repair (System File Checker): Most GUIs feature an integrated button to launch sfc /scannow right after the DISM repair finishes. Why Use a GUI over the Command Line? Fix Windows Update corruptions and installation failures
